I implement it when he gets too exited while playing when he’s nipping at my trousers and barking.
I first say Enough. Then I say timeout (and keep repeating it) and then put him away in the bathroom for 20 secs or so. He calmes down. But then he does it again after few minutes. I’ve managed to calm him down saying timeout and petting him(without putting him in the bathroom ) but now I can see that he tries to run away as he knows what’s coming and I’ve read its a negative side effect.
Please advise.
Have a lovely day

He’s been getting increasingly crazy, even with two walks, playing, etc and tonight I tried putting him in a soft sided carrier to calm down. He cried but eventually calmed. Of course, now he’s really upset and has his back to me, but he DID stop.

My family just got a puppy (11 weeks) and he is so sweet but then he gets in what I call “destructo mode” where everything is a toy and he just wants to run and grab anything. My mom has been putting him in the bathroom because to her it’s like when a baby is fussy- they probably need a nap.
I wanted to be sure we weren’t being mean so it’s nice to know that this is actually a helpful tool.
