   About a year ago I came across these Marich Chocolate Cherries for the first time. Until then, I hadn’t been a big fan of this particular confection. However, when I tasted one I was sold on them. The dark outer shell is a silky smooth milk chocolate, dyed red to give it a cherry color, and lives up to the quality of other products produced by Marich. The cherry firm and quite tasty. It’s different from the traditional candied chocolate-covered cherries in fondant. The latter are (in my estimation) sickeningly sweet. These have just the right amount of sweetness and have a genuine cherry taste.

   These candies are the real thing. Real bing cherries (not those flavored jellies in other candies). Real chocolate (quality chocolate with cocoa butter – not that partially hydrogenated vegetable oil in other candy). Real vanilla (not artificial vanillin). If you know the difference and care, you will appreciate the quality of this product. Plump, chewy, sweet dried bing cherries dipped in a thick layer of chocolate. What’s not to love? These make a wonderful treat to spoil yourself or the perfect gift for someone who loves chocolate and cherries. They’re even gorgeous in a fancy dish served to guests.
