very good candy bar.
this is not the Mars bar that was sold in the U.S. until 2002.
this Mars bar has no almonds.
the closest i’ve had to that old-fashioned Mars bar is the Snickers Almond.
sadly, the Snickers Almond does not taste quite like the Mars bar i remember.
and chew it carefully or you’ll miss the almonds altogether.
when i tasted this Mars bar, it reminded me of a Milky Way.
but it was better than a Milky Way. a lot better.
conversation between me and my son while eating:
me: mmmm. this is kind of like a Milky Way except way better
son: yeah.
me: i can’t put my finger on it, but this is so much better.
son: it’s because this actually tastes GOOD.
me: that’s it!

When I was a little girl, one of the delights of going shopping with my Mom was an occasional Mars Bar treat. They were her favorite candy bars. I didn’t realize they were no longer sold in America, so I was delighted to find them on Amazon. The free shipping from the UK sealed the deal. Wonderful treat, wish they were still available in the USA.
